Here’s to the Women
Here’s to the women. The ones who are strong and soft at the same time. And to the ones who are searching for strength. Who right now, need to borrow the strength and stability and support of others.
To the ones who are inspirational and to the ones who are inspired. And to the ones that are still seeking inspiration and searching for their place or their calling. Staying true to the search is just as important as arriving at the destination.
Here’s to the mothers. The ones who have raised us and come before us. The ones we have known. The ones we have lost. The ones we have become. The ones we long to be. The ones who are trying their best but still judging themselves. They are actually perfect in their journey.
Here’s to the daughters. The ones we embody. The ones we are raising. The ones we have wished and still wish for. The sweet and the snuggly small ones. The fierce and rebellious, growing and changing. The ones who will outgrow our households but never our hearts. We will teach them all we can in every way we know how until the day they spread their own wings.
Here’s to the sisters who have walked beside us. Sisters by birth and sisters by heart. The ones we have learned from at times and taught at times. The ones we have fought with and forgiven. The ones we have grown with and grown away from. The ones we still need and the ones that still need us.
Here’s to the friends, both close and casual. The new ones we have just begun to discover. And the forever friends that we could not live without. The ones who were in our lives for a season that felt all too short, but made memories that will last a lifetime. The ones who are our shoulder to cry on and sounding board to vent to. We don’t know what we’d do without them and we hope we never have to find out.
Here’s to the women who make up our tribe. And to the ones who have yet to find their true tribe. They will appear when you need them and they will carry you through if you let them.
Here’s to the women who are uplifting. And to those who need to be lifted up. We all do at one point or another and we all take a turn in returning the favor.
Here’s to the trailblazers that have come before us. To the ones who have paved the way and the ones who are still finding their way. Who are taking even the smallest of steps in the right direction. Who will recognize when they need to stop and rest, but will ultimately resume the journey.
Here’s to the women who make their voices heard. And to the ones who are still finding their voice. They must never give up and we must never give up on them.
Here’s to the women who are a light in the dark. And to the ones who are basking in that glow. The ones who long to be the spark, to carry the torch that ignites the wild fire. Their turn will come. That spark cannot be extinguished.
Here’s to the women that we are, that we’ve been, that we strive to be, that we are becoming. Here’s to us. Wherever we are.
